The Portal for South-Asians in Spain
The first and best company dedicated to the integration of South Asian Immigrants in Spain through cultural promotion through the oganization of FESTIVALS (Holi, Diwali, Eid Milan, and other Asian Melas) and using Bollywood as a calling card when presenting our culture to Spain.
Established in Barcelona in 2002 by Sheri Ahmed, it was the first company to organise monthly Bollywood parties. Masala organised the Bollywood Dance workshop in the Barcelona Cultural Forum 2004 and started the trend for Bollywood dance classes in Spain. We have participated in television and radio programmes every time we have had an opportunity to represent our community and our culture.
The Film Club with special sessions to explain cultural themes through film was set up in 2003. The international writer and Bollywood expert, Sunny Singh, hosted the Film Club (2004-2006) while she was living in Barcelona. She is also the Vice-President of Ada-e-Masala cultural association.
Masala organised the Press Conference and provided interpreters for Shah Rukh Khan at the presentation of the "Temptations" show in Barcelona in 2004.
