Welcome to Study Skills for the 21st Century, Class of 2024!
365体育投注Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we launch this virtual edition of our classic study skills course. Our goal is to provide your daughter with a multitude of strategies, skills, and connections that will make her start at Oakland Catholic seamless as possible. In the last few months, we've gained a lifetime of experience running Zoom classes that are engaging, varied, and pedagogically sound. In structuring this remote learning experience, we've taken full advantage of our newly-honed expertise in this area. The following are a few pertinent items regarding the changes and enhancements we've made to move this course online:
Laptops will be distributed to all incoming, registered freshmen the week of June 8. An email will be sent Monday with specific details. Once your daughter completes laptop setup, she can engage in our online summer course from any internet-accessible location.
To minimize eye strain and fatigue from extended screen use, we have stretched classes across two weeks in July. Additionally, we've added meet-up sessions in August to further build camaraderie and reinforce skills. Currently, the August sessions are designed to be held online; however, we'll be prepared to offer these sessions in person if safety guidelines change to permit small groups on campus at this time.
To make the online setting more conducive to relationship building, we have worked to keep class sizes as small as possible.
During each scheduled time, your daughter will join a live Zoom session with one of our instructors who will guide her through the day’s topic and allow time for discussion and interaction.
365体育投注We're sure that through this course your daughter will grow in competence, confidence and friendship. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
